How to use Chromecast / Google Cast and AirPlay to Cast Videos

Updated over a year ago

When you're watching a video on the mobile app, you can cast the video to your PC or TV to watch them on a bigger screen and have the phone act as the remote.

Start by navigating to any video in the sections that you want to watch.

You will be presented with the controls on the screen.

  1. Google Cast (Android Casting)

  2. Expand Screen

  3. Settings Cog

  4. Speed Settings

  5. Closed Captions / Subtitles

  6. Airplay (iOS Casting)

  7. Move Backwards 15 seconds.

  8. Play / Pause Button

  9. Move Forwards 15 seconds.

Google Cast (Android Casting)

You would need a Google Chromecast or a TV compatible with Chromecasting, make sure this is setup first before using this feature.

1. Click on the Google Cast icon (1).

If you get this message:

This app needs Local Network Access to Cast...

Accept the required permissions and click OK.

3. A list of Chromecast compatible devices should appear, you can select the one you want to use and the casting should start on the other device.

AirPlay (iOS Casting)

1. Click on the AirPlay icon (6).

2. A list of AirPlay compatible devices should appear, select the one you want to use and the casting should start on the other device.

NOTE: If you want to cast videos to an AirPlay compatible device, make sure the device you're casting to is discoverable by switching on AirPlay on your TV, Computer or device.

Can I use 'Screen Mirroring' to cast the videos

Screen Mirroring will not work as our app does not support Screen Mirroring videos.

Instead we recommend using AirPlay and Google Cast as a way to cast our content to a bigger screen.
